Friends VS Family- The better of the two

Family makes the first move, just like they do in the average child’s life, but friends are not far behind. Friendship gives family a damaging blow with their acceptance but family strikes back with constant support. It looks like a close one guys! Stay tuned to see who will win in this never ending battle of these two superpowers!

In all our lives we have two main spheres of socialization, our friends and our family. Both these groups tend to be equally important to us and are constantly at war for our attention. Is one group more important than the other? Some, or rather most might say that definitely your family is more important than your friends, because your family has been with you since the beginning of time. But in my opinion they both enjoy equal statures simply because your families are people who due to their blood relations with you, on some level have to accept you whereas your friends are just random people you happened to have met who like you because of you. They have been charmed and swept of their feet by nothing but your personality, or at least we’d like to believe that. I think it’s sad that we live in a society where friendships take a back seat.

Our relationships with our friends are treated as frivolous and expendable. It’s not uncommon for us to hear things like you can skip that out going with your friends and stay home with your family, after all your family is more important.

Now you also have to understand that your family too wants your time and attention and they believe that because you are related to them by blood and that they will always be there for you, they command more importance. They feel that friends come and go, but they will remain. They are strong believers that only they truly have your best interest at heart, no one else is capable at treating you the way they do. And I mean you can’t blame them, most families are strong protectors of their members. They support each other both financially and emotionally.

What is more important, family or friends?

Blood related or not, anyone who is your true supporter, your confidante, your 3 AM emergency contact, your wingman, your detector, your partner in crime, your true well-wisher, he/she is your 'person'. Your friend. Your family.

There are beautiful and close knit families, where the atmosphere at home is open, warm, relaxed, and friendly. Everyone is free to share what they want, without any judgement. On the other hand, I've seen broken homes, abusive relationships, mental torture, homes that look as grim and as severe as an army barrack during war. No one speaks to each other. Everyone stays in the same home yet leads different lives. It's eerie.

Some friends are like soulmates, who sometimes become as close as brothers and sisters and become your family. But, there are some who backstab at the first chance they get, who gossip behind your back, who have selfish motives, who are never there when you need them, and who can be absolutely vile to you, and break your trust.

My point is, there are good and bad families and good and bad friends. So, what matters is the kind of person you have in your life.

Anybody who loves you for who you are and has your back no matter what, is priceless. Embrace them, love them, cherish them, and never ever let them go!

Some people have the best of both worlds, where your family is like your friend, and your friends become your family. If you're one of those lucky few, understand that what you have is special. Don't take them for granted. Value those guardian angels in your life!



Let's be honest. Friends are not a forever thing. Friends argue, change, a lot of things can happen in a friendship and then it ends. It's sad but true, that happens every day. The relationship with your family can be hard too sometimes, but it tends to be longer.

Think about how many times does your friends betray you, and then the same about your family. Friends have disappointed you much more, am I wrong? It's probably a biological thing. The family should stay together to survive, it's easier if you are all together.

But as I see it, there is a reason for all that things apart from the biological reason. Family has seen you growing up your whole life, and that makes a huge difference.

To sum up, I would say that friends are a very important thing in life, and of course they matter. But in the most of the cases, family is the most beautiful thing that you can have.

My eternal friends

Forever is a very long time. Sometimes we have a friend and we sense that our souls are very closely connected. We know that the connection is above time and space. We know that wherever we are in our lives we will always remain friends. Even if we do not see each other for years we are able to pick up right where we left off. This is what people mean when they say friends forever.

Best Friends 

Best Friends means different things to different people. Some insist that you can have only one best friend. Others assert that they have best friends for different aspects of their personalities. Whatever the precise definition, your best friend is the person who gets you. They understand who you are and what you are saying. The greatest distance cannot separate best friends. You will always feel a kinship with them, and be able to instantly continue the friendship even after not talking for many years.

We go through ups and downs, but still nothing can tear us apart.

I know you as a sister, and I will always care,

Love, respect, and trust are the things we share.

            Do you still remember all the bad days we had when we were just kids? We don’t talk. We don’t laugh. We don’t play. Indeed, we are enemies. Remember all the bad words I have said unto you? They were like daggers, aren’t they? Of course, you’ll get hurt. That’s what I want. You were broke and you cried. I am the eldest, I am your superior. You must follow.

           But still, you’ve never hated me. I guess, I’m a total jerk for not loving you back. I guess, I’m your total opposite, I am the bad one and you were the good one.

            Remember that curse I’ve thrown up to you? Please, don’t take those words, seriously. I say those words for I am mad. That time, I still haven’t known the worth of you as my sister. That time, I still haven’t known the feeling of having a sister. That time, I was being blinded by my hate. That time, I still didn’t know how to love.

            We became best friends, and you say that I am the best ate in the world. I cried. Those innocent smiles gave me an unusual sensation. It feels so good that it can’t be true. Am I really worth for this love? I guess, am not.

           Time had passed and you were still beside me. You’ve never left me in all my good times and bad times. We laugh. We learn. We grew. We dream. Today until tomorrow and eternity, I’ll always love you, my best buddy.
